The Incidence of Vocal problems in Theatre Schools

ABSTRACT

In this work, Marly Santoro de Brito (Brazil) discusses the dysphonia of actors and students of theatre schools: how they result from different causes and worsen due to environmental aggressions. The author finds that incidents of laryngeal pathologies among people who use the voice as an instrument of work, decreases through awareness of their dependence on it. Further, the author addresses approaches and techniques to decrease such incidents.
